USA can copy all you have on your Laptop.

American authorities has given airport security control more liberty to act when it comes to digital information.

In addition to take all ten fingerprints they can go through your laptop you bring with you to the airport. They can copy whatever they want to and store the information for as long time they want to. All this they can do without any special suspicions or reasons for it.

It is a development we should watch with caution. Of course it is up to USA to determine what measures they want to have for people traveling into their country. However, it is up to the individual to determine whether you accept it or not. In the future you will have to decide what type of information you will bring with you into the USA.

No reason for suspicion

One thing is personal information, but we have to regard sensitive information, maybe even propriety job related information you have stored on your computer. You have no control what the authorities do with your equipment once they connect to your computer. It is a chance that some information is copied without you even knowing about it at all. This material can be misused or end up in wrong hands.

So maybe you should consider other places to have your business meetings in the future.
